Requirements for Kenyan Teachers Migrating to Australia
- Age: Under 45 at the time of invitation (most visas).
- Occupation: Your teaching occupation (e.g., Primary, Secondary, Early Childhood Teacher) must be on the relevant skilled occupation list.
- Skills Assessment: Obtain a positive assessment from AITSL (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership).
- English Proficiency: Meet English requirements (usually IELTS Academic: 7.0 in Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening, or equivalent).
- Qualifications: Hold a recognized teaching qualification comparable to an Australian Bachelor of Education or higher.
- Work Experience: Some visas require recent teaching experience (e.g., 1-3 years).
- Points Test: For points-based visas (189, 190, 491), score at least 65 points (age, English, qualifications, experience, etc.).
- Health & Character: Meet Australian health and character requirements (medical exam, police clearance).
